Th!nk Oconee was launched in October 2016 as a buy local campaign. At the first year mark, Th!nk Oconee made a change to transition from just a buy local campaign into a broader campaign that celebrates Oconee County and everything that makes it special!
History
The driving force behind this campaign was the Destination Oconee plan. The main focus of that plan is to improve overall quality of life through downtown business development and revitalization, recognition of the County as a "destination", and a sense of place. Originally a buy local campaign challenging Oconee citizens to consciously focus their spending habits toward local business, Th!nk Oconee has grown into a way of life. It now not only challenges natives to think, buy, and give locally, it also challenges South Carolinians, Georgians, and North Carolinians alike, to th!nk Oconee when they travel. A prime destination spot, this county located in the north western corner of South Carolina, has proven itself to be the destination for business and lifelong investment decisions. Located less than three hours from Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville, and Greenville; Oconee County truly is at the center of it all.
